Hey guys, I thought that I should get some practice in before I start modeling this guys face. Nose I made in about twenty minutes with no reference (the nostril might seem a little thin but I made it thicker) Uploaded with ImageShack.us C&C welcome
this, dont try and do a million things. focus on a few good pieces, and make them look as good as you can. Also dont neglect traditional art, get some good drawings in there, and if drawing isn't your strong point, make sure you practice it even harder
onely 1 day left of labor day weekend, and im proud to say ive been practicing most of it. very, very bland diffuse. Lets see if I can put any of my painting skill to use. Also, ive acquired bodypaint, need to learn that too.
Looks good man! I dont think its top notch level yet, but its going the right way! I think practice is the key to getting good with substance designer, im in exactly the same boat as you at the mo, just trying to keep making stuff :D
Looks good, a bit empty, but I'm sure there's more coming. I do have a nitpick though; It might be hard to see the counters from some angles, I think it would be more practical if the gas pumps would face the boats on each side of the dock. Keep it up.
a lot of those financial guys are still living in the park near my house. too ashamed to go home you see... however, Japan was rich due to it's earning ability not it's spending ability. Before the bubble burst there was practically zero unemployment, not a good contrast to whats happening now.
I use Max alot aswell and love connect but with a bit of practice its easy peasey :) and its gotten alot better in the newer versions of maya. I can see instances where getting a connect function into maya would be awesome but for this I wouldnt bother with adding scripts
thanks gallows, that is pretty much what i wanted, to do this each plane i use a tiling texture with has to be a separate object, is that pretty common practice? Also i have to match the repeat uv's ratio to the ratio of the rectangle, thats pretty easy to eyeball though thanks
The top navigation buttons up top are practically unnoticeable. When I first opened up the site, I thought all you were showing were some of your professional work. I had to look around before I noticed you had other pages.
My cousin works at bioware and he said because i am young and don't have any schooling that its gonna be 10x harder for me to land a decent job, im 19 so thats come as a shock to me but ill keep practicing and learning the tools of the trade.
