Big companies are slow.. We setup our new pipeline on blender and forward this "requirement" to our outsources as well. So lets see how it looks like in a few years :)
Are there any good examples of these renowned outsource studios. Also do you know of any good sites that help you find job opportunities for specifically smaller game companies.

I mean, yes lots of games companies do share data (with outsource vendors, external partners etc etc). I don't have a lot of information to share on this though.
1) hire a project manager/s that knows games not "knows games". 2) make games in modules and link these modules together with people hired as "nodes" 3) outsource modules

From my experience on a really big game project it's pretty rare to outsource anything to an individual. Companies who have groups of freelancers will be used if the assets aren't being made in house.
