Hi, I don't have much experience with unwrapping UV. I need to unwrap the UV of a product. I'm looking for a solution to unwrapping UV Automatically. And, also I would like than the UV map is meaningful for a non-3D user. So he can open the map into Photoshop to paint it and he will not need to take of the distortion you…
Actually ive found solution so i will leave it right here so maybe someone will find it helpful. This normal map node has this box to choose uvmap source. This forces image to be treated as vector information. @lluc21 the thing is that i want to rebake multiple objects to one massive atlas and rearange them. Scaling and…
I used to use it a lot, great program that can do a lot. But I'd recommend starting with max or maya as those are the main ones used in the industry, so at worst you'd have to switch to the other one, at best the company uses the one you already learned. I still use Blender for all my uvmapping, at home and work. Not seen…
Lot's of unused space on your uvmap. Either pack it better or if you can't find a good way use the space for the other wheels. Also i would recommend to straighten all uv lines that are a bit wavy now. Especialy important where the uvsplits are. This will give you a better result when you bake normals and it's easier to…
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I thought part of being a videogame artist was combining being a techy person with being an arty person? [/ QUOTE ] I´ll agree with that That is even the extra bit that makes it really interesting. [/ QUOTE ]To a certain extent yes but normal mapping just feels like it needs better tools. Maybe it gets…
About the offset angle on the model,is your model exported straight along axis from your 3D package? The reason why the projection is blurry is probably because you have exported the model without equal quads.(in other words, create low poly model. UVMap it,then duplicate it,and divide it in equal quads before export) the…
Quickly tested a new workflow to get my sculpt into Painter without bothering with retopology, Uvmapping and baking. I imported my blender sculpt into Zbrush to get the Uvs generated and exported the entire highpoly with Uvs to Painter. The remaining maps like AO and curvature I baked directly inside Painter. I'm surprised…
No this is not normal, it should not happen. I work with face weighted normals a lot and I don't have this issue. Anyways, what I can tell based on your uvmap, I'm not sure if its the bevel that causes the issue. But more like the way you unwrap things. We can see a corner piece on your image, but you don't have a seam on…
I listen to podcast especially about animation, 3d, interviews about workflows and stuff. Music is a liittle distracting tbh. I usually work quietly if the task at hand demands my full attention, listen to music if I am working on light hearted stuff like modeling relatively simple geometry and uvmapping. Texture painting…
I don't think there's something like that... Not to my knowledge anyway. I have seen ways to change UV layout later once the texture is completely done. (you rebake the finished lowpoly with new UVmapped lowpoly). But to manipulate the UV as you go, I don't think so. BTW, great job. Feels like Mabinogi Online but with…
