Anybody know the best way to display an object with decals in 3ds max viewport? I'm using 2012, but the decal w/ alpha seems to be z-fighting with the object. Thanks.

Open the deformation palette, switch Rotate from Z to X, and type in 90 Use ctrl+shift to hide them, then use tool: geometry: del hidden to delete them
Question, can we assign 'mutiple boxes' to multiple buttons? For example, if I press Shift-Z for basic tools, Shift-X for Ribbon tools, etc, using Hotbox?
Making it end at the surface is generally better than going thru it, since it also helps avoid z-buffer artifacts. But it's definitely easier just to leave it as-is and paint out the errors.
That, is a nice ass rock. Would love a little breakdown of how you went about that, even if it's just a little text discussion :) Are you using a z-depth shader for the moss?
Yes i will look at that. I guess those brushes you mention are z brush brushes, but im using mudbox. Thank you for the critique and kind words, I appreciate it :)
