Ah, it's good there's people who share the same view as me. I agree there's no better replacement than Polycount, but it had really helped me with the technical area (edge flow, unwrapping, topology). I don't support what this guy is doing though.
I kinda like it, lovin flat design but there's some stuff you can change. At first I would replace list of "Maps to render" to a list of images like in quixel products. Also white text on green boxes is a little bit unreadable.
This porbably won't replace 3DSMAX all together however I like the idea of being able to use vray and unreal renders in a single scene. Also to be sharing PBR and VRAY materials in the same workflow, atm it requires 2 sets of material data.
For the time I left it at default since it's a bit of a pain to have to keep replacing the defaultengine.ini (This is a school assignment, and the computers deep freeze). Since my initial post it's been changed and I have created a post process chain, but appearently you missed that.
We are now trying to replace models, but why is this title is dangerous? I'm not calling this game The Legend of Zelda. Recently fans created Twilight Symphony album, that has reorchestrated tracks from Twilight Princess. How they could get Nintendo allow to release it?
Got a list of the methods you have access to? It looks like it just does a sin and cos of the same angle to me, and could be replaced by: sinA = sin( angle ); cosA = cos( angle ); But I'm guessing you know that and don't have sin/cos...
Its been a while since I updated. I replaced all of the block out meshes with more modular building blocks, trying to plan out what is modular and what is unique. First draft of the cooking appliances and the counters were done as well.
Thanks for the comment. I tried reducing/removing the white gradient, but the background becomes more uniform and dull. I tried adding some smokes but that really doesn't sit well with these type of stuff. Do you have anything in mind to replace the gradient with?
What was the point of modeling out all of the bricks and siding? Surely this could easily be done with tiling textures. I know you said you'll replace it with normals etc, but why would you do it in the first place? Its a huge waste of time.
