I think it looks like too much polys because of the wireframe thickness. It has the same iterations used for other parts. I will see if it makes any difference if i reduce the smoothing iterations. Yep..will correct the pole..Thanks

hey guys, I'm just playing around with the obensubdiv moddifier and it seems that it isn't working like it should, even with iterations set to 4 or 5 i become this really bad looking shading or what ever this is... In the autodesk tutorial "youtube" the uses a iteration of 3 without this weird shading issue... any idea…
It works fine in Blender, it just needs a lot of iterations. Try around 1000 iterations and Maya will show it as being planar. Not that it actually matters, of course. In a real-world situation you will almost never need polygons to be as planar as Maya needs them to be to call them planar.
