I came up with a small challenge for myself, and that is to do an entire list of props in 3d for games. Once this list is completed I will move to zBrush to make some character models :D Critique is welcome!!! PROP LIST: propane tank - DONE file cabinet - UNFINISHED mailbox - UNFINISHED monitor - UNFINISHED skids -…
Hello Community! I've been on a sculpting learning process since the beginning of this year. (Which you can see here: link) Now I'm on my 3rd more difficult task of modeling a full character. She needs to be done within a month's time. And I have this horrible issue of getting started. So I'm going need help from all of…
@gastrop0d I really like the way you have broken down the concept and adding a little bit of customisation! The grass looks very soft and fluffy. Just one question - Did you Create a geometry for the grass or used a plane with an alpha? I'm just wondering whats the best way to approach the vegetation... @b_beauchamp That's…
Those extra loops are not adding anything to general form /silhouette or something. Their single purpose is to get rid of a shading gradient. And 3 extra loops on the top is not necessary actually. Would be ok to just add a single one with vertex normals edited to be perfectly perpendicular to surface . They are not by…
That'll be a Ring Flash. Light originating from all around the lens gives softer and less directional shadows than a normal flash firing from one side of the lens. The ammount and intensity of the light depend on how bright the flash is, how bright it is compared to the ambient light, and how far away you are from the…
If you mean to produce a AAA - Quality game then sure, I'd imagine most indie studios want to achieve that level of quality... Like ghaztecschmexeh said, Indie is pretty much just anyone without a publisher to fund them, eg funding out of their own pocket so they can do what they want. So yes, there is plenty of "indie" or…
There's more free games out there than anyone will ever be able to play in his lifetime, no one really needs the games you pay for, they're a luxury where there are ton of other games for free. No I actually agree with that first thing, as I've mentioned earlier in my posts, there really isn't any way to stop piracy…
If you rebake with new smoothing groups that may help your errors. Also are you triangulating you mesh manually? If you bake in one program and display in another there's a chance they will triangulate your low poly model differently and cause errorss when you go to display your model. I bet that if you use the cage…
I just saw the winners. And this is really really disappointing. I know it was written the ones who would use iclone would have special attention uring judging time, but I also thought it was an animation contest, and the quality of animation would be the primal criteria. And sorry to tell that, but the winners are…
You can use the right click quad menu to freeze/unfreeze vert/edges/faces. I know pelt refuses to work if there is a gap in the pelt seam(s). I think ever open edge needs to be surounded by pelt seams? Did you do point to point seams around the open edges, like the eyes? When I pelt I normally skip the point to point seams…
