i'm no expert on how brick pillars are built in real life, but I'd think they're concrete/filler in the middle and brick on the exterior. So having it worn down and destroyed with bricks encased in concrete looks a bit odd. -

Your bricks are looking good, but they're a little too shiny. Bricks are very dull in reality. Right now it's looking less like brick and more like ceramic. Good work, so far, though. -

Nail the lighting like everybody is saying. Also, the specular/gloss on the bricks are too high. Also check the size of the bricks, they are big compared to the concept as well as the size of your scene. Look at the door and the bricks around it to get a better sense. -
