Close down Maya 2016. Rename the prefs folder in /documents/maya/2016/prefs Change it to something like prefsOLD Start Maya 2016 it should detect that prefs is missing and it will discover your older version and ask you if you want to use those preferences.

If you take a look at the reference option box there are three options: 1st to give the file name, 2nd to give another custom name and 3rd not to rename it. The recommended workflow is really to give the file name, giving a prefix is necessary to avoid repeated nodes in the scene and to maintain consistency.
After looking at the MEL for that script, my only hunch is that somehow you're selecting the transform node instead of the shape node somehow, but that's a shot in the dark. When in doubt with Maya, either delete or rename your prefs folder and restart. That will force Maya to re-create the default preferences.
Your thread title "3dsmax lightning help" is probably why you're not getting any helpful hits. First, "lightning" is different from "lighting". Secondly, your problem is actually very specific. I'm renaming your thread to "3ds Max 2016: MR skyportal material?"
Maybe try to re-install it then? I just tried it to double check for you, and all I did was open up my PSD, then launched dDo and this is what it pulled up. You are not renaming, or changing around your layers are you? That can mess up dDo a lot.

Maps are not being renamed below is what I get after I reimport the maps: The maps have changed but the map names are the same as the original project: So I changed the name of the FBX file to same as the original but the color ID map is black. This issue is definitely not solved !
These are all cool ideas. I am in the process of trying to organize my collection but I wonder if the renaming of all the files I have will be so time consuming that maybe dumping them into labeled folders will be easier. As for the naming of the textures to be used in projects, I like SirCalalot's method!
