I decided to show my new project. Typical, archetype demon. There will be no legs, just robe and simple armour. Here is still wip torso (i have no ideas for horns yet, so i put there any speed one).:
Made some progress on skeleton but there's still a lot things to do. If You have some advices please tell me, I just can't concept armour or something.
Its just a proof of concept - a bunch of guys running around a studio back lot in Halo-ish armour with some quick CG and a lot of stock footage dropped in.
slipsius, I like the idea of doing multiple armour/equipment sets. Do you think it would be effective to do different character states too? Like a wounded version, or a starving/straggler version?
Great work! Can I ask how you did the armour on your Gladiator? Did you export a low poly mesh of the guy and then model around it in a 3D modelling package, then import it back in?
Nah, looks like that was just the Helmet. @soulty: I feel like the helmet is out of place with the rest of the light-armour-modern-mercenary feel. It's all pretty solid though, modelling/texturing wise.
I'm loving this guy, although I feel some parts of him are quite symmetrical. That is one crazy texture painting job though, I can't stop staring at all the metal armour parts :)
A pity there's no online play nonetheless, you get hours of grinding gameplay. I'm getting this just for the cool game art and nothing beats spending hours to get that cool looking piece of armour. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24268.html
