I like the lightsaber lighting rod! The wall panel lighting and color is a bit too uniform for my tastes (The floors and walls being the same color once lit in the scene/ it's screaming for contrast for me), but I understand that's more or less subjective; great job!
seems like its not using lightmaps. it looks like its using vertex lighting. does the model have a 2nd channel for lightmaps? double click the asset in the browser, is it pointing to the correct channel for lightmaps? also. this thread is for all UDK issues: http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=67290
Regarding the lack of shadows, try to enable lightmapping on all major meshes. Go to the static mesh editor for each of the meshes and input a number for lightmap resolution, but don't go too high with it, there's no need. Then go into each instance of the mesh and scroll all the way down in their properties and uncheck…
As same as a hk usp gun - I've decided to change my old high poly lightsabers models to low poly ones. First is Darth Maul's saber. 3,8k tris. Textured in Painter. When I finish all of them I will make bigger scene.
Assuming Unity's lightmap is what I am expecting, the fact that it's one piece may be the problem. Am I correct in that I now realize the texture sheet you posted in the first post is actually the texture sheet for the entire scene as one object? I was thinking it was all separate meshes, as how a scene would typically be…
have you tried to snap the UV vertices to the pixels of the lightmap? make sure the lightmap has the same pixel size in your tool as it has in udk while you activate the Pixel snapping. those lines can occur because UDK has to try to fill half of Pixels which is a reason for those jagged Lightmap lines.
The object that you're lightmapping looks very close to the same in each image. The difference in the second image is the shadow on the ground. I suspect you're adjusting the lightmapping on your table prop and expecting a change on the shadow on the ground. Is your groundplane BSP? If so, bring up the surface properties…
Hello i'm new here and already got some problems to solve. 1 I need a plugin for Blender or Lightwave that could let me export 3DSMax ASCII files(.ASC) i prefer blender but if there's no plugin for it then lightwave would fit. 2 Is there someone in these forums that knows what camera angles i need to set to render Units…
Yep it's great, my wife and I stumbled into this last summer when we decided to rewatch them all over again, by ourselves before we let Layne watch them (she was 6). Kind of a parental review. I was gun-ho to plop the kiddo down and let her marinate in greatness but my wife, was a little skeptical that she was ready. She…
The one problem you have with the edge of the shelf is because you probably have a curve in your lightmap unwrap, straightening the edge in the uv should fix it. The other one is harder to fix, since epic is putting quite a bit of compression on the lightmaps. Can you post a screenshot of your lightmap unwrap here?
