Hi guys, I have an idea with additionl tools for curves, is it possible to create surfases in closed non-planar curve? I know that we have surface tools, but sometimes thay are not enough. I tried to find some scripts but not found anything.
@ justo sorry I should have been more explicit: a deformer with a baseShape is not the same thing as a deformer with just a shape ( although u can sometimes get luck with similar effects on some ) deformers that use base shapes have two shapes and use the distance between the shapes to calculate deformation. But when we…
Hello guys, could somebody please explain to me the difference between surface normals and geometry normals simplified? computational geometry - What's the difference between geometric surface normal and shading surface normal? - Computer Graphics Stack Exchange I don't know how this affect the baking
Hey, I've not seen a thread on this yet so I'm just wondering what people's opinions are on the new surface devices just revealed?? The surface book looks pretty sweet, but it does have a high price tag! http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/devices/surface-book
@ArtHuman Polygonal automotive modeling workflows typically involve tracing the body lines with curves or subdivided edges and creating clean guide shapes for the curved panels before cutting in any surface details. Whether or not something is modeled as a continuous surface or split into sections really depends on the…

Hey everyone. Well, I'm coming from an organic modeling background, and I'm working on my hard-surface skills now... I know all the basics, I understand topology and how to handle everything... how to harden a surface by using edges well, etc... But I lack some knowledge in how to "solve" some more advanced creasing…
Hey everyone, I've been texturing hard surface assets for a while now but still run into the same issue, that especially coated metal surfaces (Anodized Aluminium, Blued Steel etc.) get later on critiqued as not quite PBR correct. While this is somewhat of a problem with Metal/Rough where I am not sure how much to reduce…
Hey CrazyButcher, that's the behaviour you got with nurbs. You extend an untrimmed surface and have to define only the extension amount, but in that case you have to deal with a function to describe the surface. Alter the domain, and you get your extension without any more effort. In poly modeling you got only points in…
