Because it uses micro SD, it should be easier to format SD cards to be larger formats that the system technically does not support. My 32 GB card is almost full so I would love to see if I can get a 64 or 128 GB card in one. Luckily, my smart phone is capable of formatting the SD cards to the proper format.
I have 4 gigs of ram on vista 32 bit. 9 million polygons appears to slow down zbrush. : ) I also was running out of ram trying to bake in xnormal. I can't upgrade to 8 gigs unless i use 64 bit right? Any ideas on my above baking problem? I'm SO CLOSE. aha
You're saying that this option is missing? You can also get there with shift+ right click on your model. If both are gone, you may need to delete your preferences file then start maya up again; but that's a last resort thing usually. The display option is just for uh, display purposes. For soften/harden, I like to start…
Good point, anti-aliasing and pre-multiply makes dilation more difficult. Here's an example with non-AA UVs. I prefer the more even results I get with Solidify. Xnormal has a maximum dilation of 32 pixels, while Solidfy does it all in one click. But in the end it's really just an aesthetic choice, both mip about the same.
Not sure what Maya supports but I either make a selection and copy the mesh and delete that selection and the invertion of it in both meshes, or I simply copy the selection. Anyway as mentioned the newer versions of Unity support 32 bit buffer for meshes so that problem would be solved. On the other hand, you can just…
A continuation from the previous post. I have been working on getting screen space global illumination working for the skylight. It's currently using 32 samples, which is an extremely high sample count, and still only a single bounce. I think its starting to look plausible, but still got a lot to do. References:…
Interesting stuff CheeseOnToast! valve switched to maya? excellent! I hope they update the vstSmdIO to maya 8.5 I updated the sdk folder hoping they had something new in there but nope still same "CRC-32 115985DA" ....damn!! have u used pralls smd plugin to get the model into maya? (just wondering if anything new is…
I don't think mental ray is the best rendrerer for any normal map baking in max tbh. The antialiasing is not very good, though you can bake at double res and half size your textures. I don't have any problem baking in max 2011, 32 or 64 bit either. Good luck finding your solution! :D
I have the exact same experience, it takes no time to adjust. I read a couple of time that you cannot draw straight lines on curved displays and it's impossible to do precise CAD work etc. which is not the case imho. Looks like flat ultrawide displays are not produced anymore, you might wanna have a look at 32:9 displays…
Vehemently disagree on the Quadro. 1080 any day. Agreed on the ram. I'm just about to double up to 64gigs as 32 just isn't enough for my workflow. I rarely have less than 5 ram-hungry applications running all the time. Ram is so cheap I don't see why not have as much as my mobo can handle?
