sounds like it is turned on in preferences for "new" objects. open preferences > polygons and deselect vertex normals from: "Polygons: Display Settings for New Polygons" besides display > poly menu you mentioned the vtx normals option also lives in display > poly > custom polygon display And as an attr for each shape node:…
Hey all, Noob here, but learning as much as I can. I know that all games eventually convert quads into tris. So my question is, is there a way to calculate how many polygons your model currently uses? I use 3dmax. Also, how many polygon is usally attributed in making sections of the character? How many is used for the…
Hi Dudez! Have some troubles with my Polygon that i made with Mayas Create Polygon Tool. I Cant use the Insert Edge Loop Tool to add Details to the weapon. I Want to add some edges on the main side of the weapon to smooth that weapon. Without Edges smoothing destroys the weapon. What im doin wrong?
I want to know can I produce polygons in Zbrush like in Blender -http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.4/Manual/Extensions/Python/Example If yes, then how can I do it? Please provide example. I know about Zscripting, but I think that it cannot produce polygons. I really need your help. Thanks Indy
The biggest problem is, solid models and nurbs are mathematically complex, whereas polygons are mathematically simple. It's all about speed. And translating it over to polygons is feasible, but can be time consuming.
maybe, maybe not. Depends on the pipeline or/if it was a hybrid renderer that could handle both points and polygons, or convert point geometry to cheap physics polygonal models, etc. We will see.
You can't loop unselect in any version. I always loop select the edge/border, then CTRL select the polygon element button (it converts to nearest polygon selection).
Since you have the four verts in the same object, use "polygon" selection option instead, and hit "create". Then you can pick the verts in order, and a polygon will be made.
All realtime models are triangulated. So they mean triangle limit, not polygon. Definition of polygon: a plane figure with at least three straight sides and angles, and typically five or more.
