Think I am done with this Temple Tomb scene. It was a good learning experience in modular design and I was able to make a lot of mistakes in which to learn from. It is entirely rendered in the Marmoset Engine and turned into a theatrical release kind of vid (blame the film degree). https://vimeo.com/45562813
Been working on my first mini environment in UDK for the first time...nice exposure to the engine and was a good experience. The result of my simple scene, there is definitely room for improvement from composition to quality with post processing as there really isn't any here, but I'm happy with the current result. :D
Not finished, but since I will not have time anymore to achieve the work I call it done : The following is a school's work, I had to make a jeep car the most realistic as possible regardless the modeling but with a limit of 4500 tri. From the engine to the side mirrors. The target was the Playstation Portable (PSP).
Yeah you gotta really know the engines limitations on device, we use unity3D a lot. I know what you mean about your next gen skills, Ive had to consciously practice sculpting, normal mapping etc just so I dont forget.
foolin' around lightmass and colourbleeding in UDK, i'm effin in love with this game engine, and should dive into it deeep. the more i know about gamedev the more i love it. do you guys know a good tut upon reflections.. or cubemap i guess, not really into terminology yet :)
Fan art for Tron 2.0 by Monolith from 2003.One of my favorite games. The goal is to look retro and abstract like original TRON and TRON 2.0 but done with modern game engine...in my case UDK. Teaser screenshots from my test scene :D Color test...
Working more on my Quake 2 (id tech 2) powered engine update. Gun model/player models by own3r, rest by myself, lots of foliage/effects missing, so it may look a bit sparse and underdetailed in places. All 100% in-game with zero editing in photoshop of course:
good stuff in here as always :) Here's a sculpt of the statue i'm going to use for my spark of imagination re-make (although that name now holds no meaning for the scene it's so far gone from that idea lol) it's an 'engineer' from prometheus as i think that's the most fitting character for a statue in this scene.
Almost done with my jetbike. I wanted to try focusing on customization with this one. I have a master material for the bike body, and one for the jet engine...all the combinations are instances of those master materials. I made a couple different "stripe masks" so the colors are just picked in the material instance.…
Baj, choco, dustinbrown, many others- Great work! retoped my mutant and started some textures. Right now hes in Maya so no fancy shader shtuff- I need to get him into an engine or something. Thinkin about making a few versions and some weapons. Maybe make a set of em...who knows.
