Bring. It. OOOOOOOOOOOOOON! 2009 had even MORE posts than 2008. 2009 thread is available here. So much goodness! Some admin sticky this please ;) If I keep this up I might be labelled as the what are you working on thread bitch. Happy new year polycount!
I'm kinda new to hard surface modeling (and max as well) and this is my second try. Based on a concept by fellow polycounter Nick Carver. Hope to turn it into game rez soon. And yep I rendered it with turbosmooth off (it would take a decade to render with smooth on). And the wires for those wirefreaks.
Still lots to do, but still plugging away at this. I've killed a bunch of tris in his head and hair, but further sacrifices must occur. Adding the shackles bumped this up to beyond the polycount I'm comfortable with, so I think I'm going to give him a bit of a haircut soon.
Thanks guys! @BetelGeist- I'm a pretty infrequent poster here at polycount, but I'm gonna try and change that. sorry not much else to show unless you dig through my old posts. @Dado Almeida- Yeah I can try that, but sometimes I like the rigid look, is that weird.
Slightly unconventional pimp here: Not that I can check this myself, being out here in Tokyo, but my app (Facemakr) is now on all the Demo iPhone4 handsets in Apple stores UK nationwide. My head is spinning A lot more people are about to get exposed to Polycounts Greentooth as he's in the app ;)
Greetings Everyone:), My name is Jeff and I'm on a constant journey to improve myself artistically and having browsed around Polycount I know this is one of the best places for me to do that. Looking forward to my experiences here in Polycount. I'm currently working on a small environment piece based off of images of…
welcome to polycount olddog lets start with a crit haha your mailbox has quite even wear along the edges maybe think more about where it would be scratched and what the scratches would look like? eg only scratched on some sides/edges and with tiny scratches that are fairly obvious not semi transparent?
Posting a link instead of an image since it's 9000xSomething http://www.marklemmons.com/Polycount/Sunset_v02.jpg This is a continuation of my failed Beat-Em Up challenge a few months back. Stars, clouds, and water still need to be replaced with my own. The bridge may be turned into a log because it blocks more of the view…
@Paulewog: nice looking models, The gnome could use some tweaking to reduce the polycount, specialy on the body, it has way too much density, remove some loops and it will be much more optimized. @BlackulaDZ: what's up with the Inverted cross? its a satanic Spaceman? XD Nice model though, I love the wrinkles on the suit :D
Robert Downey Jr.? Looks great and welcome to Polycount. If you are making the renders in Zbrush 3.5 R3, double the canvas size and then hit Ctrl+0 or click on AAHalf, it will give you AA effect on your models so they will not have those ugly dents ^^ PS: your Image files also said it was Downey :P
