Hi there. I wrote a maxscript for asigning color ID's. Which comes handy when you need to export color ıd's to programs like substance painter and quixel suite. You can watch it in action here, if you are interested. Script can be found here
I think your choice should depend what you want to do. One route isn't really better than another one to end up in the games industry, especially not if you end up doing something you don't like. Working in games is very exciting, at least from my point of view when compared to other jobs, yet it also is very often also…
Changed my UI popup script so that it now pops up world space UI and screen space UI. Here is an example of the screen space UI. This should hopefully fix the blurry UI text problem. Planning, for now anyway, on keeping both.
Very nice find. Nifty to look at ... even not being a character artist. That tool he wrote seems nifty too. WTB that UV script and realtime UV editor display of UV warping... looks like Roadkill but 20 times better and inside of Maya.
if you get nex, it will remember selections from one component to the next, its pretty nice. i also use this tool for dealing with multiple selection sets. http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/modeling/curve-tools/c/ya_selectionmanager--2
haha yea, that got me too. I switched spacebar to "maximize viewport toggle" since I kept locking selection all the time. Pity this doesn't work in 2012 hopefully its something as simple as needing to be recompiled like a lot of other scripts.
Sorry to give life to a dead thread but the search button lead me here :) Is this possible in max at all? Been searching for a while without much luck, or is there a script that till do this? edit: Specifically the maya auto fit part, with the roundness value at a negative, thanks!
Me and script don't always see eye to eye. I think it's a language barrier, or something. I'd be happy to share the file, although I'm not sure how I'd go about doing that. The Attach Image/file won't allow 3ds Max files.
If you posess a licensed UVLayout USB-dongle - nobody will ban you from using it! :) The "out of the box" UV tools of Maya or Max are incomparably petty. Using third-party script or plugins really makes working better - but not THAT RADICALLY as UVLayout does. IMHO.
If you havn't customized modo a great deal then just delete your .cfg file and it will go back to stock. If you have, consider either re-creating those customizations ( may be fastest way forward) or backing them up using the XPORT_FRAGMENTS script.
