Started with the lowpoly model.. i have done some tweaking on all of the parts. And it's now reduced from 1 437 264 polygons to 1616 polygons. Still need to work more on some of the parts though.
In my experience, you get what you pay for. I've been burned too often by AMD and ATI to really give them much consideration, now that they've teamed up I hear its gotten a little better but you should stay in "their family" and not mix and match Nvidia with AMD. I hear ATI driver support hasn't gotten much better since…
So this isn't the final IP or anything - I'll probably burn it down and rebuild with a few more fixes. But it's nearly ready for prime time. At the very least it is light years better without any extra customization. http://162.243.134.94/wiki/Polycount

Now they're rocking 2 draw calls of the entire UI (1 is for the font and other for UI elements.) I am aware of the position indicator doing it's bugginess. What is occurring, is…
CryENGINE is less flexible than UDK, giving you no option to make custom shaders/material types and having a pretty limited terrain editor (FP16 point precision, compressed texturing, fixed layer setup without any option to adjust how terrain rendering works). But then again, if you want a flexible engine where you can…
That's true, and then if you add on the "Submission deadline to be considered for the $3k bonus is December 15th" you get $16,000. Given the amount of prizes you're almost garaunteed to get at least the lowest prize for each catagory.. however that's way less than the amount of work required for making a NPC/Character as…
