Depends on a lot of things. Game or render? Distance from camera? If it's a game, will the player ever get close to it?? you don't want to waste time modeling parts of an asset if they're not going to be seen, or lost in the texture bake.
My main issue is that the base stone's texel resolution is so different from the rest, and this is where 99% of players will be. In terms of texture priority, getting that are looking great should be at the top of the list. Right now it is stretch and uneven.
Cheers everyone! Made a little block-out. UDK test. btw Height of first person camera in UDK can be also changed in 'Pawn" scripts. In DefaultProperties, string "BaseEyeHeight" and "EyeHeight". It's player collision and camera height.
you can sometimes fake thickness by double stacking the alpha planes: stack a plane on top of another, offset by enough that the player sees a bit of parallaxing - I don't know how convincing it is with normal mapped assets.
Change the gametype in the world properties to something else. The player type used by some of the gametypes has a lower fov. You can also type 'fov 90' in the console in game, or put that into Kismet so it auto runs it.
If its MMO, I'll role with a healer/mage If its single player. Mage - I like fighting away from the battle XD so in the end I guess caster...though in WoW I played rogue.
yikes, your hammer is still kinda wrong, check this pic (needs to curve down into the frame around where it hinges) Also when animated the hammer will be cocked, which means this part will be exposed and right in the player's face:
Hey great and promising looking stuff! :) I noticed on the gun that it could probably use some more geometry, such as in places like the scope. It's a crucial part that would be in the player's face if this were for a first-person game. Keep at it!
Great idea guys, im moving soon, and crunch time at work, so this month might not work well but ill give it a shot, i got a new computer coming in finally, cant wait to player around with it.
I hope this is released after I graduate, as I would prefer to not fail out of school. Anyway, I would love to see some basic co-op, but I'd be happy with just single player too.
