Jed, throwing a triangulate modifier on both pieces fixed both problems! Thank you! Out of curiosity, why does having the mesh as tri's make a difference in the bake?
But what's the payoff, Jed? Switching to Blender gets them ... what, exactly, over Maya? I'm not trying to be combative but if the answer isn't anything more substantive than, "It's cool", then ... yeah.

Have to agree with Jed on this one, the terms seem pretty clear that legally you're not supposed to sell your account. It also says it twice: "The rights granted to you constitute a license and not a transfer of title."
@SnowInChina: It's fine as long as it's 32 bit raw, anything lower is fit only for instagram. @Jed: I have no problems with PNG when people are using it for what it is good at. But it seems like people rarely are.
@Jed: So, if I am understanding this correctly, even though the materials aren't relevant to any projecs I'm working on right now, just take the time to recreate those materials with their given textures?
