Hey hey, Been futzing about with high poly modeling and when I go to render my am. occ the floating pieces in the highpoly cast shadows. I was told by vahl that this can be disabled by enabling "front face casting" in the mental ray settings. However, I can't find this in Max. (Max 2008). Any ideas?
You want it to not cast shadow just onto itself? What about an unlit shader? I think there is no way to disable just the self shadowing. You can disable the shadow casting, but then it won't cast shadows onto anything.
