... lightmap not working? you're using lightmaps as well? I know that unity can't have an object use lightmaps and transparency at the same time (as far as i know) that might be related to the issue you're havin... ??
You should use Directional Lightmaps over Dual Lightmaps for pretty much any scene. If you dont you wont get any specular or normal map shading from indirect light. Directional Lightmaps will also be way faster.
If you were using lightmaps, and you stored your lightmap UVs in 0...1 space you could use uniform variables to change the part of the lightmap atlas that 0...1 space applies to by performing a lerp in your vertex shader.
Using overlapping UV islands is obviously a pretty common way to save on texture space, but you end up with... symmetrical texturing, which is obviously pretty boring. I figure a nice way to get some asymmetry would be to apply vertex painting to half of the model as needed, and then use the paint to blend in another…
My attempt at creating Obi-Wan Kenobi's Lightsaber. I've been out "the business" for a while and really want to get back and need to re-educate myself on a lot. So with this project I wanted to focus on Substance Painter. Still have to learn a lot. But for now. I'm Pretty happy with the result. See here my portfolio post…
Actually a spell that desolve the cloth with awesome particle effects, that would be fun, or summon bugs that starts eating it away. ;) I think Dual Shield would be two shields attach to each another, like those dual lightsabers ;)
Have you tried upping the lightmap size a bit? Or do you have overlapping uvs in the lightmap? Also try to have as few uv shells as possible in the lightmap and dont have them too close together. Are the normals all the right way round?
Hey man, these might help: http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/LightMapUnwrapping.html http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/LightingReference.html#Lightmaps Unreal engine bakes lightmaps when calculating lighting and you use a separate UV coordinate index for unique lightmap unwrapping.
Ruth Comely (spelling?) was my animation teacher, and she actually got me into doing choreographed stage combat for the schools production of Macbeth. Great fun, and I still do it, albeit with lightsabers instead of rapiers, haha.
i couldnt help it,was gonna model the body but then i got excited and made his lightsaber. wanted something a little different sp i went with a red metal finish rather then the chrome seen on all sabers
