Thanks a lot for all the suggestions. For this project, I'll keep it on the simple side. It's not a very large scene (SketchFab has limits). My real concern was what to do if I was working on a large scene (away from SketchFab) and I've got some solid options here.
These two setups should produce the same result so that is interesting. Can you send a description of your problem and a copy of your scene and textures to support@marmoset.co ? The easiest way to do this is to go to File -> Export -> Scene Bundle, and then zip up the .tbscene and /assets/ folder.
In 4.5 there is an Artist Template Map when you create a new project with the starter content. It comes with a cube map and a color checker in the scene. If you want to do something more architecture visualization, try just putting it in the free Koopa scene from the market place.
Back to working a bit on this project. Most of my work since that last post has been trying to get the basic structure of the scene totally in place so I can start filling it with some assets. Also messing with lighting and a different sort of tone for the scene.
I love this scene. Your lighting, your materials is all looking very good :) The scattering of the grass is the only thing that is a little off to me. Could be more subtle I think. Otherwise great scene! Show us some material renders and breakdowns ! :P
nice scene, good texturing, is that in an engine or not ? if so is it possible to add detail textures/normal maps ? would add a lot to the scene, and if you could parrallax map the floor or add a little bit of geometry could be an improvement. looks very nice either way though.
I like the Simple yet Tech look room. Suggestion pose? Have her Sitting the Chair with a book ? Oo;; Maybe? It looks surreal, reminds me a lil offhandishly like a Scene from a Austin Powers Type scene..... has a 60's feel to it
i'd suggest integrating the watermark into ur scene. ie. its a 3d object that gets reflected, casts shadows, and is fairly close to other objects in the scene. as mentioned, no watermark is fool-proof, but i figure this to be one way to make it annoying to try and get rid of a watermark?
i gotta second the Versus recommendation. Just make sure you grab the unrated version, because the US release is cut to absurdity (the fight scenes are ridiculously disjointed due to them chopping out the gore... which makes up a lot of said fight scenes).
Here is my completed Asylum scene. I had to call it complete and move on to another project, but I'd sincerely love to hear your comments and crits on it, because I'm really trying to be the best artist I can be, and any input is invaluable to me. This project was mainly intended to be a prop showcase. Here is a short…
