Slip: I've been meaning to use the "Hairspray technique", think I might for my next project. So far I just paint chips on with silver model paint, but it's not the best method (or paint). Tully: Thank you, very nice to see you drop by! There was talk about getting clearance from Bethesda to release some stuff, so it might…
Thanks a lot man, actually at the time of writing this I was pondering through the gnomon dvds and I found what you were talking about, the gears of war creature-like dude, I'm probably going to snatch that up very soon. I did watch that Nox thing but I found it kinda confusing but I don't think i was further enough in the…
Thanks Tiros, I going to try and attempt to make the water similar to the reference image. the noisiness is probably from the AO which I'll fix that up. I'll will definitely start over and try a different approach to defining the material. I think I understand about the smoothing error, but just to make sure, your talking…
You'll probably end up doing the same tasks as a senior artist, unless you can't handle the same types of stuff they can. A good portfolio would probably get you a Junior (entry level) position. Tack on 5 years of experience and some brains, and you should have a senior position. And you'd probably actually make enough…
Thanks everyone. My plans of sitting at home relaxing and playing all the many video games I have yet to play, was cut short by a long series of power outages. Perfect time to own a DS, which illuminates an entire room very well. I'm not ready to get old. Very soon I'll be sitting on the porch with kub talking about the…
Update! Following on from the last several posts, I went back to refining my textures and really pushing the materials further. My first hurdle to overcome was the texel density; with having split the model into four Material IDs, I found that I was lacking the resolution to really take full advantage of what Painter has…
I'm feeling it. Looks good. My only critique would be that the tank top could be a bit more loose on some areas. It's following the muscular details too much near the pecs. More like this imo.
No the models are as it were , in fact there are other issues regarding uvmap in other vehicle/tanks that need to pay attention , i.e panther back escape hatch used as uvmap of gun bore , so no apply decals back there
Magni, you old son-of-a-gun! Good call, I definitely could afford to show a few wire-frames and texture maps. P.S. Your website is looking pretty sharp, sir (love that tank)
Oh shit, you drew those? And there's me thinking you could only draw penis tanks when you opened your sketchpad at Wagga's XD EDIT: Looking sick so far btw
