So I'm trying to generate hair textures from Xgen renders using mental ray in Maya 2017 and am running into some problems. Has anyone tried baking AO and the results are coming plain white? I'm trying to play with the AO Max Distance slider in the mental ray Render settings (falloff mode set to Quadratic), but I can't get…
Hey everyone! Been awhile since I last posted. I was in the Smoky Mountains last week and decided to try out doing photogrammetry. This is a sign that I found in Cades Cove on a hike. I plan on making a scene with some of my scans. Any feedback and tips would be greatly appreciated! Here is some reference of the sign in…
hey, the movie is just about to release in india, and i'm wondering if its worth the Rs.150 ticket (thats worth a big mac + a large coke + a large fries from McDs) i mean... the book was good and all, and u have to credit the "kid"! even two was good and i wanna read 3 right when it comes out! but how was the movie? i hear…
After reading it again, that tutorial echoes what Eric said about internal objects for detail, "Simulate volume by placing something inside the ice", like spheres for bubbles etc. A lot of the look will also come from the material(s). There's a good reference here with GIFs and such about each Cycles shading node:…
Good question. It's the Famas F1, with that kinda magazine. It's been rather standard Famas, up to this point, in the block-in period. But now, if I am allowed to, comes the next step where some core details are applied. Nothing fancy like tiny scratches on the gunbarrel. But detail like the bolts. Sound good? :) Thanks…
the right most fanblade looks like it would crash into the ground. Also, do the people coming in/out have to worry about getting chopped by a fanblade? Maya physical sun and moon you need to add a gamma node in there to fix the washout of the textures. The fan arms themselves look a little weak to me as well, but looks…
I agree with Fletch on how important art seems to be to GW2's core. What wrecks my head about MMO's and WoW is that the hud covers most of the damn screen, so distracting, I want to see the art dammnit, devs should come up with a better way to have functionality but still let us actually see the game world.
I think there's a modifier coming in an upcoming build, but as of right now you can record all game engine physics animations for regular use by setting Game > Record Animation on the top menu bar. All you have to do is play the game and it will record every frame of movement. Make sure you're in Blender Game mode or this…
loving your stuff , I am doing some hand painted stuff at work as well so this is quiet inspiring. Btw have you given Photoshop's native texture painting a go? you can actually lode in an obj and paint in projection/texture mode, I think this works really nicely for projects where you have to hand paint the details.
well, coming hot off the heals of such a slick piece of software as COD4, this game is so far like a slap in the face with a wet kipper. It's taken an AGE to install, and the two attempts I've had to get into the first level have so far began and ended with a hard-lock at the loading screen. piss oh hey wait its working.…
