Do yourself and your family a favor and don't pay for an art degree. Take that money that you would spend on schooling and put it towards living expenses and Eat3D/Gnomon DVDs. The quality of education that you will get from those DVDs is higher then most classrooms. Take the skills taught in the DVDs and create your own…
Agree with above - Blogs really aren't great for showing a Portfolio. If you don't want to build a Portfolio website, you should at least use a nice community website like ArtStation, which will automatically create a portfolio for you. If you look at my portfolio signature link you'll see what I mean. :) The best…
I would stay away from xrefs, I've had nothing but trouble with them. The most common issue I ran into was that they would lose the link and stop updating if I made changes to the original. I would then have to click on each one and load each xref. The problem with that was that I had hundreds, and when the link broke the…
OK so I got Fred to unlock my submission. I added a base, tweaked the textures and poses, and resubmitted tonight. I've updated the images at the top with the new finals. Hopefully the base adds a little something. I am still not happy with the texture on her skin. I didn't spend long enough tweaking it (spent half of the…
no SSS on malcom, its a pure screengrab from ingame, theres a big push here to make pure grabs to bang the drum as loud as we can about our tech being THE tech for next gen platforms. Now that we use normal maps, pretty much everyone here is a modeller. I'm 3d only these days as I want to focus on trying to catch up on the…
Can you rework items in your existing portfolio? The reason I ask, is that it is going to be quick to update a few of your pieces to a high standard - a few days at most. Looking at it, the first thing I clicked on was the medieval building. With one evenings work that could look much better - baking some AO into the…
Hello PC Need a little help getting my normal maps produced for a this character. This is my first attempt at producing a normal of this type and its giving me a headache. I have read the normal map thread on this site and it has given me a fairly clear idea of what I need but I have not yet been able to produce it. So…
Update: I managed to fix it. I double-checked the entirety of the outlinear and noticed that the IK rig wasn't parent-constrained to the respective joints. Still, thanks for mentioning to look into the outliner :)
Patch rolled out: Rocksteady is leading our team of developers and partners as we work on the PC performance issues that players have been encountering. The work is significant and while we are making good progress on improving performance, it will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place. Below is the…
You can't really compare washing machines with games but many machines are flawed as well. Some machines are "fixed" by releasing new updated versions(if the original version is let's say MX1011, the updated and fixed version would then be MX1011i or whatever) instead of releasing patches like they do for today's games. As…
