I simply don't think this is right. I followed all the steps in a tutorial but it's still not working. Also, I guess you're supposed to be able to simply see your normal map in the viewport, how do I set this up?
Ok, already found the solution to the first part of the issue: If I set the interpolation in Unreal from "linear" to "step", it fixes the eyes popping issue. Still gotta figure out the missing poly issue...
Hello there! My low poly and uvs are entirely done now. I had the pleasure to try out RizomUV and I can't recommand it enough. It's extremely powerful, quick and precise. Next step: baking.
In terms of visual tech, I am really enjoying the graphical solutions that UE4 has to offer currently. Have felt that Unity was always one step behind in terms of drag and drop artistic quality.
I provided multiple links that go over this topic with different implementations. At the simplest level, 2 textures with alpha blend achieves the idea. Once the basics are understood, getting fancy with geometry is the next step.
Would love to experience this scene in VR while the subway car is moving. And now I realise I will do that tomorrow morning in real life. This is the first step towards Matrix and you Abigail will be building it !
Best advice I can give is to leave the excuses at the door and take the advice. You won't get oohs and aahs for pointing out your inexperience, but rather for the steps you take to gain experience.
I started struggling through the rest of the body. Things seem off, just can't put my finger on it. Just don't have enough experience I guess. and divisions stepped up with no changes:
Started lighting the stage by adding several spot lights. I re-textured the ceiling to reddish color. Also double the stage resolution to 4k. Reused the backside of the step stone model for ceiling decoration.
really nice sculpt there man. Nice just on the tile like texture. you know it repeast but its subtly done. Nice job, but I still think the steps would add more to the piece.
