Hello, everyone. I'm new to 3ds max, I been using modo but wanted to try max but my normal maps keep coming out weird as you see below....Any idea on how this is happening? is there a step or setting I'm missing?

When I was using UDK it was best to set ViewportNormalMappingType to Qualified in 3dsmax before exporting the mesh and in UDK to explicit Normals. This gave better results for Normal Maps. Is this step still needed? Or should Qualified be turned off?
Hey guys, i finally managed to finish this entry for the Serge Birault 3d contest the original concept by Serge Birault my interpretation/entry and some of the steps sculpted in zbrush and rendered with vray 2.0 in 3ds max
Managed to figure out what the issue was. I'd missed out a crucial step after adding the IK to the leg. I should have gone to the Attribute Editor and under IK Handle Attributes change Stickiness to Sticky. Now it's behaving the same. :)
