I bought the Quixel Suit in the pre-order - the 99$ pre-order price seemed too nice to pass for what it would do. Marmoset is just a presentation tool, correct? Since I was thinking about game props and characters I didn't think it was enough, but if I ever wanted to sell assets it would come in handy. And thanks for the…
For what purpose? For 99% of the uses of this, rendering to a texture is an intermediate step that will cost you memory and performance, and lose you image quality. Just take the output of whatever material you want in a texture and pipe it directly into however you plan to use it in the other. As you don't mention any…
Yes, we can see that. Unwarping is in 99% of the cases a absolutly vital step when you use textures. When you use produceals (what you wrongly call materials) that are generated by mathematical formulas MAX (or whatever program you use) does this for you. There are plenty of tutorials at there. Do a google search, check in…
back in 99, my brothers and I were driving from Waseca to Owatonna for work (Viracon glass) and there was about 2.5-3ft of snow on highway 14 the entire way there - they called off the plows it was so bad. We drove through it in a 2dr sedan. haha. At 4:30am, half-asleep, sliding and drifting all over the place - that was…
Oh cool, would like to read a review to see how it performs but I could see some finger gesture stuff being really useful. From one of the readers comments at engadget: "On shelves at staples. Put the display out last night lol 69 for the touch, 99 for the touch and pen and 199 for the bigger one with the touch and pen"
btw, although tangent-space of course is used in like 99% or so for characters. It is not correct that object space couldnt be used. After all its just another "space" and animation transforms could be applied as well. Think of the pre-pixel lighting era, where just vertex normals were animated/deformed, and those are…
I hope to hell Pixologic doesn't get in the bloat bandwagon, because there is not byte of ram I can spare when running zbrush. I still use Photoshop 5.0, for 99% of my texturing. I just fire up CS2 when for warping or using brushes. I'm basically working in abandonware. (it's from 1998 ) damn emoticons
Besides the designs themselves which are responsible for 99% of the look, the models are simply very carefully built. The ressources are out there and easy to find - and when looking at the models and UVs in detail, the one thing that stands out is that there is absolutely nothing special about them - UVs are tight,…
Finished about 99% of the high-poly! I decided to throw out the triangle shapes on the shroud. I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. I think the right side of the gun is a bit blank right now, which is the other 1% of work I'll be doing on the high-poly. Then I'll start the re-topo process. Critiques welcome!
@ Renderasdf, 99% of the time you can fast close lightbox by just clicking outside the img (in the black space) When you open my site you go straight to photography, maybe you should also skip " home" abd let it go to the gameart page when you open the site instead. It looks clean, nice and easy :)
