In LW I'd spline it out, then make poly patches. This one I just made a poly cylinder, removed 270 deg of it then added the divot, made a spline to guide it and shaped it. Like 4 minutes.

To be honest center mesh doesn't work for me on huge meshes, but if I use the scale slider it shows up around 0.1/0.0. Clicking center mesh after that obliterates it, so don't click it.
lumen and nanite resource cost are both resolution dependent so (barring any driver/configuration issues) this is indeed most likely due to resolution. You might get a load of frames back if you switch to immersive mode cos the editor UI eats up a shitload of resources. that said though, lumen does not run very well in…
