UPDATE! - Started to add ground props to the scene - Fixed some blend mask issues - Re-painted the floor with more natural rubble formations (was too random for my liking!) - Tweaked the lighting/shadows to give a little more contrast to the scene Thanks!
The props individually are alright, but you have so many and the scenes are so well thought out and lived in, it kinda makes up for it. There is a lot of character there and I think you did a good job with that. Bedroom is my favorite scene. That wallpaper pealing is fantastic.
I can only tell from personal taste but for environments I'm more keen on looking at full scenes rather than individual assets themselves unless they're for breakdown of the said scene. That shows you can make objects that are consistent together.
Yep indeed, it is cause the 'they never came'' is on a hot spot with the rule of thirds and well contrasted from the wall...i think it is wanted. I agree with wirrexx 's comment about the scene depth, good point to me...perhaps put a DOF in the scene ?
Currently i'm working on a scene that is an adaptation of a TV show which will be taken into Unreal 4. Moodboard My current progress of the section of the kitchen, Relatively low polly at the moment until I have the full scene complete and start baking the maps in Substance.
you may want to do more with damage and decay. if this thing has been sitting there for a while, you'll need to show the "life" of the scene through that. more intense lighting may help a bit too. check this scene out done by Jim Magill
A lot of the ones I recommend have already been mention but I will add America: The Bill Hicks Story. It is done in a pretty original style where the made all the scenes of the movie from old clips or animating old photographs to make the scenes.
That's good advice Artsy, but if that doesn't work you can try the Ol' merge it into a new scene, trick. Create a material from scratch? I've seen this happen when people bounce between MR and Scanline. Usually merging into a new scene fixes it.
looks good buddika, the only thing i feel here is the overall lighting in the scene is very evened out.And there is a clear lack of shadows.I donno may be that is what which is not giving the right depth in the scene i guess. Nice work otherwise Vj
Just gonna give my input, achieving truly a photo-realistic scene is a challenge, even in these modern game engines. One that I always fall short on at this time, but in my next scene I'll reach it! <- I say this every time :D
