Remind me again Splinter Cell is a stealth game? Conviction was short on the stealth aspect and that looked like another step away. At least we have Thief 4 for our stealth fix.
about 6 months too late lol, but im in the final steps of making a game ready dinosaur as well. your post is great inspiration for me to make that final push and get it done!

Trying this one step at a time. Just want to enter a trigger and make an invisible mesh become visible. I'm trying it with dynamic material for now. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You're my freakin' hero dude. I'm still not crazy about having to go through an extra step (albeit a minor one), but still this was really driving me nuts in 2011. THANKYOU!
Thanks Rafferty_Eggleston, I haven't gotten to touching up the anatomy for a bit since I wanted to take a step back and work on the gear however I will work to implement your suggestions soon.
