A co-worker and I were debating the 99 Nights trailer found here: http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/747/...wmvhighwide.wmv I say it's real-time, he says it's pre-rendered. But I don't see anything in there that can't be done with current engines, and will presumably be done better and faster with next-gen engines,…
C4D has a very stable import and export generally on FBX, this is 99% chance the export settings in Maya are set incorrectly, so you might need to go through the maya settings. If all meshes are combined then the export combined them Use FBX, its just better than OBJ Also you obviously need to set up new shaders, don't…
Worst thing is randomness of Maya. Sometimes I have 100% reproduce on crash while doing something that normally is working smooth for example bevel an edge. So it looks like it is something wrong with my file or setup. But in 99% of cases you go to object mode, add box, combine it with crashing mesh, delete box in edit…
I did a quick test in the toolbag with that output. The results are 99% correct. There are some very subtle shading errors in a few places but this is very good considering the object (which is smoothed): Without the normal map: Make sure your fbx has tangents and binormals exported when you make the tangent space map and…
Yes, you'll need a developer license. Yes it can be a free license if you want to only test it on a simulator on your Macbook. If you want to test it on an iPad or iPhone you'll need to pay $99 for the license. IMO it's worth it because nothing is cooler than seeing YOUR app work on the proper device. It's like christmas,…
The female pills can fail. If they're taken perfectly, they have a 99% success rate, but it's very easy to forget a day or two and that hampers their effectiveness. What if you dated someone who you trusted, but lied to you like the guy in the article? It's just extra security. I certainly wouldn't want run the risk of…
I think there's a "SmoothUV" option button in the Tool palette in ZBrush that you need to disable before you start subdividing your mesh. It's called something arcane like "SUV" or something - just hold down CTRL and mouse over all of the buttons in the Geometry rollout, I'm 99% certain it's in there. I'm pretty sure…
I've been with siteground for several years now, very reasonable pricing and filespace and traffic. http://www.siteground.com * FREE domain name * 750 GB web space * 7500 GB traffic * 99.9% server uptime * 24/7 top customer care * FREE SiteBuilder (save $99!) * Unlimited email accounts * CPanel and Fantastico for $5.95 a…
It can be if you outright get a lic for Unreal. But that's spendy, far out of the reaches of indie devs. I'd like to be able to pay $2500 and not have the 25% taken away. The only way to distribute your app is on the AppStore and so you have to price your $X.99 app to the next tier to make up for it. And that's what's…
id forget about implentation specific stuff, you dont need to worry about face swapping if your not exporting it to an engine. get some good concept art and copy it as closely as possible. They may have a few clever tricks to get certain looks but 99% of any good model is good observation from the concept art/ reference.
