Finally these 2 following resources are a must-have in my opinion for a 3d environment artist: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/185/Practical-Light-and-Color#.VVju0kaOu9E http://www.hourences.com/product/the-hows-and-whys-of-level-design-2/
Not photoshop but I have been using Krita alongside David Revoy's brushpack. http://www.davidrevoy.com/article/180/ressource-krita-brushes.html Very solid concept art application, free as well. It has a great brush engine.
I made my low poly with UVS. Current 167 tris, with symmetrical detail, its 180 tris. I also tried building the LOD0 first, but it didn't work out. The cylinder has 8 sides so....
I completely agree with you Glottis8, I was so disappointed to hear that they gave my favorite video game duo a complete 180 in the other direction. I might try it out, but I was never interested in vehicle games.
updated the drivers still nay...am i that unlucky come on my crappy computer...133 mhz played the damn game !1 its strange , but only EA games seem not to play on my computer HA .... :P
This is a good one. http://boards.polycount.net/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=8173&an=0&page=0#8173 And if you can't use Wings, I suggest you learn how to flip a burger 180 degrees on it's X axis.
i originally (a few months back) heard the psp was gonna be $180 and games were gonna be $30-40... guess i'm not gonna get the psp for a while then.. too bad, was lookin forward to gettin it right off the bat
also maybe try using that one with the really obvious repeating detail not quite so much... i mean the wall itself looks good, but that one brick with the 2 dents in it can't hide even rotated 180 degrees... :)
I'm having some trouble with the normals on my wall. The one on the right shades correctly, but when I rotate the object 180 degrees, the shading is reversed. Anyone know how to correct this? FYI, normals baked in Xnormal, rendered in UDK.
http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/153/ this one uses max and zbrush. not a ``first time character modeling`` tutorial if you know what I mean though. Great none the less Happy hunting :)
