A lil update, to my realtime chimp character. First pass of the haircards. So i'm focusing on the hair near the head first. This is a workflow i'm still experimenting with and i see a lot room for improvement. #xgen #Autodesk #photoshop #3DModeling #gamedev
You might have better luck posting to r/gamedev Narrative designers are rare. Most of the ones that work with us at InXile are individuals who are published/working authors. If you want to stalk InXile vets, look for George Ziets to start.
Whether you're looking for Blender specific training, fundamentals of 3D art, or art in general, I'd recommend Blender Guru. It's not gamedev related, but you can learn plenty of useful things there. This is how I got into Blender a couple of years ago.
r/gamedev is pretty active, but it's more programmer/one man indie focused. Most people on this forum would probably be posting replies from an artist perspective, which is usually underrepresented there. They do love their free 2D tilesets for unity though.

hmm. about the 2nd option - do they offer a full university/college programm (4 years) with a diploma? or is it more of a 1year bootcamp? honestly a recently opened private programm where you dont know much info about them doesnt sound super trustworthy. It would be better if you could get more info on them i think. Also…
Spacemonkey beat me to it. The year before last, Gamasutra posted a lot of vids of GDC. Now whilst I am decidedly an amateur, I really enjoyed watching the pros to help me learn. Damn...I feel like a gamedev groupie
Hello, I have started characters sculpting 2 years ago and I'm trying to accomplish my portoflio and meet with gamedev requirements. I'm conscious my portfolio will be as good as my worst published work. And therefore to avoid being rejected at first look, I would kindly ask for your review. I have made plenty of…
Somehow 3d soft devs never understood gamedev which is half of all CG if not more. They basically cut off a half of their potential market share. It took more than decade for Blender too. I recall one of Blender devs asked at blenderartists : "Why you all need this normal editing when Blender does it automatically". I was…
Hey guys, Let's say you need to make a 3D object with a budget of 2k polygons, does that mean 2k tris or 2k quads ? I know that the engine converts everything to tris, but I'm not sure what polycount means in the vocabulary of gamedev.
