- Use non-reflective materials. For such render you would want a lambertian material where there's no spec/reflection at all. You can do that in materials, and additionally in the lights as well if you need to. - Maybe try follow this Youtube and see if you can lower your render time.…
Ya I realized that when I bought the warranty for 710. I will be giving that one to my parents once I have a firm grip on game development. Will buy the Custom Spec PC once I am done with my studies and everything. For now I am looking to buy the laptop....any suggestions?
But that's the thing Keg, once browser based games start to become more popular, a lot of the computer specs to play those games will be lower, so it isn't always focused on having the best graphics, but more so having great gameplay. I think that's probably one of the biggest benefits of browser gaming, eliminate the…
I think he looks cool, but not silvery enough-- right now the metal looks more like brushed aluminum with a clearcoat over it. Maybe make the metal a brighter color, or mess with the specularity-- the falloff on the spec seems to dissipate rather evenly, so the metal looks rough under the reflection. Otherwise, excellent…
Cheers MoP. I want to have a proper UV layout so I can do handpainted diffuse and spec maps so I'll try the second approach. If there's one thing I'm not short of it's UV mapped heads here are some orthos of the source mesh. I was planning to do a 256x256 NM from it.
That beauty shot looks great. The only thing that stands out (heh) is the chin. The spec map looks fine to me, although it looks too regular on the arms. Maybe add some highlights on the forearms to simulate hair? Oh and it looks like something wasn't aligned properly when you did the stroke filter.
bbob makes a good point, other than that, try creating a spec map, even just turning specular on without a map will make the normal map much more apparent. If you do have it turned on(which it doesn't look like atm), then turn the settings up higher. A tank is metal after all...
Might have to sus this show out... But the model is looking real nice dude, as usual (I still have your Taurck as my desktop background on my work PC). I agree with kakikukeko about the lack of spec in certain areas on the face, but I'm sure you'll address that when the time comes. -caseyjones
Thanks Rick. No, he doesn't... I will have to add it. I only figured out recently that it needs at least the double loop. I'm not really used to working this low spec. Gotta say its fun tho. I'll add the loop to the elbows and see if I can scrounge the tris from somewhere else.
