The search widget was added 4-5 years ago depending on what version you are on that may not be helpful, there where two versions of max that technically had the search feature in the app but it was disabled because of grumps that didn't like having x bound to search and wanted it back… -

you should create a fully subdivided model to bake onto your low poly so that your model doesn't have these unnaturally sharp edges. Running 64 bit editor I take? Equally stupid question, but there is enough drive space on both C: + drive UDK is on? There is a SwarmCache folder in Binaries, try to get rid of it.
