Hi everyone. Trying to build a simple room for a mobile platform (ipad) and on a mobile preview it has this banding. Almost like jpeg artifacts. It also appears on ipad. Editor view: Mobile preview: Its weird as it mostly shows up on walls and not on worktops, floor or sofa. Any ideas how to solve it?
Instead of filling the room with more stuff you could try making the room smaller. The size of the room in the concept looks roughly 1/4th the size of your room. If all of the sofas, coffee tables, and book cases are closer together it would feel a lot more cozy. Or if you prefer the bigger room, that's cool too.
I've never modeled a vehicle before so all feedback is very much appreciated! Thought it would be a fun to do something based on a character I love, Mr. Bean. I'm aiming to create the 'sofa on top of car' scene. The video for it can be found here [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zavsd6etz_Q"]Mr Bean Driving on roof…
Hmm, thank god they finally put soft selection in. Soft Modification tool was just about the worst implementation of a soft selection thing I've ever seen Multi-selection should be nice. Will have to see if we can get this update at work, should be useful.
Back again with an update. My next attempt with some in between steps and two ingame screenshots: Ingame: I've tried to regard all tips sofar. I'm still struggling to find a references which meet my stylized vision, therefor I took the already posted diablo3 screenshots as reference (brown rock). I started with a general…
Soft alpha is super expensive in large environments. Objects with soft alpha need to be sorted correctly which breaks up the (hopefully optimized) draw call queue, plus you get the overhead of actually calculating the sorting order of the objects. For something used as much as tree you should never use soft alpha.
looks to me like a soft woodgrain texture that's been projected in Painter (or w/e) to wrap around the edges. Its very low opacity, and there's a subtle curvature highlight and AO shadow.
I've always had this genius idea for a soda company to sell sodas with. Or maybe just a vending machine company. Plant little speakers, that, at random intervals, will make that "clickssshhhh" sound that you hear whenever open a new can of soda. It makes people thirsty every time.
Awesome environment! Jummy marbles Oscar! The only feedback I got is the height. Its hard to feel part of the scene with some of the camera shots. Things feel a bit inconsistent in how I large they are. Like the small tables vs the chairs and the reception vs the sofa. Just small details. The lighting is great as well. wp
Very good points there! I'll probably add a 1/4th curved corner sofa in the corner by the stair just like you said. About the handrail, yeah, I was a bit sceptical to it as well. I think I'll either add 2 more rails, or remove it. I will be back later with a revised concept. Thanks for the help! :)
