Someone used Cryengine 2 to render out their animation in realtime (or close, I think he was averaging at 14-16fps) Cinebox is another alternative, but last time I applied it was still in closed beta.
My wife has a 14" laptop with 2560x1440, with Win 8 at least DPI scaling works well enough that it isn't a problem. Though honestly, 2560x1440 is the minimum I would want on a 27" screen.
Star Wars Galaxies. Haven't had a subscription since the first 6 months or so it launched but I download the 14 day trial every few months and cry at what could have been.
