Just to second Elith2's suggestion; I subscribe to 3dMotive and the vids are really good - loads of general advice (as opposed to model specific so you can apply it to anything), and they cover the usual problems /solutions that can occur when baking normal maps. Don't forget the Polycount wiki -…
Have you ever read "What's the matter with Kansas" (if not, the Wikipedia page has some useful info and good links at the bottom)? Republicans have been in control of the Executive for 20 of the last 28 years. They've controlled both houses of the Legislature, and the Executive, since 2002. They're not going to 'solve' any…

Chances are you're not breaking the edges that run along UV seams before baking. But yea examples are pretty much a must if anyone is going to give any solid help. Also check out the polycount wiki, tons of great info in there about this stuff. Especially the section on smoothing:…

Syncviews script works well but it's such a tedious process imo. Quad chamfer is parametric so it saves quite a lot of time. Though I haven't done any extensive testing with the quad chamfer method. edit: This script is quite useful too, but it requires chamfers everywhere because it ignores smoothing groups.…

5% of 4k is 192x108 pixels. With a 28" 16:9 monitor that's a viewable area of about 2cm square . So. No, thats not true and your premise is flawed. As far as the existing methods used on flat screens go.. you're looking at rendering 30-50% of the screen at 25% resolution. It's a pretty significant saving - has to be or you…
