When I export single channel curvature maps the midpoint grey value is 50% as a Grayscale document but converts to 149 as an RGB document. Is there a particular reason Knald exports as a Grayscale file? Could we get an option to export as RGB with the right neutral color? Or maybe I am missing something here?
to work it out.. 1/255 * <whatever number you have> the cutoffs they list are per channel - not an average. so no individual channel should exceed 140 or drop below 35 (or whatever) and yes - you should be able to invert roughness to get glossiness - it's a linear image so there won't be any wacky behaviour
Ok more bouncing. Crits please! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4627207/Animation/BasketballFalloff.mov EDIT: Hmm, something isn't right there. It seems AE is skipping frames, and I can't figure out why. Maya output is fine, all 140 frames render out, yet AE skips them on import?
Hi guys. I've been a lurker for far too long here so it's about time I post some work! :) I've been working on a soda vending machine for a concrete city environment I'm doing. It's 140 tris and the textures are 1024x1024. I'll be making two more variations of this and I was hoping for some crits, especially on textures…
...atleast not on my pc :poly117: Every time I add a colormap to quixel, I get this: My PC specs: Windows 7 professional, 64 bit Intel Core i7 2.00 GHz 16Gb RAM NVIDIA Quadro 3000m Does anybody else get this? It's since Quixel 1.6 and 1.7 hasn't fixed anything...

Small update: Had to remake the entire mesh from scratch currently standing on 10k tries. And the maximum you can use is 14k tries I believe? I am working on the spheres and gauntlet at the moment. :) Its due in 12 hours so please criticize.
isnt this a case of monitor calibration over photoshop being wrong? once 127/50% grey is gamma reversed its going to be 50% grey in linear space. if you manually correct it to 187 its going to be 75% grey in linear space. my brain hurts :/
