well, with 'most of the guys' i meant the programmers :) Us measly artists can only attach texture files and play with the sliders a bit to make it look good hehe. But yeah, they use C-code to make shaders. One of the programmers said its pretty 'easy' to make them, you know the standard ones using diffuse, spec/reflection…
Hey guys! First post on polycount! I Wanted to share this piece, I hope you like it! Introduction I love games like Dead Island or Requisition VR. For this portfolio piece I wanted to get inspired by the crafty, impossible yet believable weapon designs of these games. What better than C4 attached to something like a…

Hi all Just a quick question. My friends and I are making a small game in Unity and as one of the lead artists I'm running into some complications regarding the materials. I'm used to using the UDK node based materials which allow you to do pretty much anything. However in Unity I've found the material types that come with…

Relative transforms on multi-shell selections is just one thing out of many that is missing. I disagree though that the information is hard to find. I would…
I always did this type of rounded bevel with the spin tool in Blender. I've also been looking for the equivalent in Maya but so far the closest I've come across is 'edit mesh > wedge'. I hate that it's the one tool you have to be in multi mode to use, also you have to delete the extra faces afterwards :/
You asked for it. Remember you can also ignore this post. If you did not appreciate the response. Long story short; its very cold & mechanical but i don't see much cuteness & fun factor, (for me). Think a stylized approach to this kind of design would've spoken louder than a startwars rolling bot (one of the many they seem…
Is there somewhere that I can find descriptions of what each node in the material editor does and is used for. A lot are self explanatory but some I just have no Idea what they do or are capable of.
