While the 2D Art is cool I have to scroll down to see any of the work I want to look at. So I'm not sure why you have a (WiP I assume) Sculpt there but not your main work. Having everything on 1 page in sections is a nice idea but I'm not sure about the Page "Top" as I said its only showing me a Sculpt & a Background…
Okay, for the past two months i didn't have time to spend on my personal project due to some "life stuff" i had to take care of... :( But now that everything is settled i am back and can't wait to continue working on my girl! So i was on the baking part. I had some difficulties. As a beginner i made many rookie mistakes so…
There's really 2 things to keep in mind when doing the low poly for this. The first thing is what parts need to be able to move, mechs are made up of pivots and joints, if the foot is going to move separately from the leg, it should be a separate piece on the low poly. The second thing you have to worry about is how well…
Chinese Temple is clearly the best piece. Still, the materials are clearly generated with filters over the diffuse. The high tricount is also suspect as the building seems to have little detail. Not displaying the wireframe on this assets leaves a lot of questions. Old Industrial conceptually doesn't make much sense, but…
@Shinigami you need to mention what specifically. @RipperSplitter you have bake errors on a few areas of your mesh. See those super dark edges that seem to change based on your viewing angle? You need a proper smoothing pass and make sure your Low and High poly match up. Make sure you explode your mesh beforehand as well.…
Thanks everyone! All the mechs are modeled high poly and then baked down. We have a kitbash library that speeds the process up a lot though. I think it's around 1000 meshes now! Generally the big shapes are custom modeled, but a lot of the smaller stuff is grabbed from the library with maybe a few tweaks. But I'm pretty…
Don't mean to be off topic here, but when it comes to IQ, I'm miles ahead in my family (which means I don't think it's genetic). I did have a point in my education where I wanted to learn more and so I worked harder at memorizing facts and critical thinking. Now that I'm walking the art path, I kind of suck now (still…
Your presentation is good. Clean and simple. I would recommend showing more technical information about your models such as texture sheets, triangle counts and wireframes for ALL your pieces. This shows you know how to efficiently model, unwrap and texture models. If you want to be an all round hard surface artist, make…
Why have you got images as big as 8294x4666?? Took me forever to load this page on my 5mb internet connection. Seriously though I wouldn't worry about your report and take time to fix your mesh and like you said if you need feedback then I'll assume you need to act upon it. From looking at the UV Template it's easy enough…
Heya, fellow boltgun crafter first off: nice choice of weapon. It's looking really cool, and has the right bolter-look (sturdy and stuff). I've got some remarks for you though. If you are going for low poly, you have to save up on quads wherever possible, as long as your silhouette doesn't pay for it. it could help…
