Hey all. I know this has been modeled to death but I am new to modeling and wanna stretch my abilities a little bit. I'm working on a cqb version M4 with rails and an acog scope. Here's my progress on day 1. I had ALOT of trouble with just the handle, which is embarrassing to admit, but I'm not used to making shapes like…
Looking forward to it ! Does the focus on high performance mean that it would also behave well on lower-end GPUs, by limiting the canvas size accordingly for instance ?
@atomicguppy You probably want to merge those different subtools/organs. Maybe leave the head and hands separated from body, but all the rest can be one solid piece. Dynamesh to merge, then ZRemesher. Smooth destroy everything on a lower subdiv so you don't get lumpy skin :P Especially her lower half of the body. @Nemecys…
I think unless you have the the same mesh shape/resolution, you will always have this facetted pattern, it will just get smaller/ less noticeable as the lowpolys shape nears the one of the highpoly. When I bake heightmaps, it's mostly baking down tiling highpoly geometry to a plane, can't say much about object-specific…
sooo... hi again XD here's my progress (though i think i went an go all the way haha) I also like how everyone made their own charger. very interesting ideas. @teodar23 the way it opens, and the internal pieces ;) i love it. just make the animation a lil bit slower, and maybe with more punch? @McGreed i liked a lot your…
I've been following your thread for a while and its been great to see your progress. It's looking great. Some minor things that came to mind: the lower eye lids are looking a bit thin. The transition between the lower lid to the cheek, as well as the area under the lower lip to the chin should be softened. The texture for…
His lower arms look a tad thin when going to the hands. I think the knees still need one more loop if it should ever be animated ;) Comparing upper and lower body you went a tad to far on the lower but have room on the upper part, imo. Esepcially the head (the sides of it) weighs in quite heavy. I don't know if you could…
Sorry, gonna add a bit to the "bony joints" idea.. Think bony protrusions/attachments. Surface markings where the bone shows through. Thigh (influences knee joint/patella - front side) Twist (influences upper part of thigh) Twist 1 (influences lower part of thigh) Calve (influences tibia more than fibia at ankle) Twist…
Hi! You could paint over and manipulate your screenshot in an image editor to get new ideas and direct yourself. Currently, I would say large area could use some subtle variation/break up. Both sky and ground have cool colors, maybe push ground towards warm to create some contrast between the two. Maybe some more color…
Wanted to share how this is coming along. Turned on BG and added flower petals in the wind. This gave me a chance to play around/learn the particle effect and wind friction tools a bit more. :D
