and in mudbox you are not projecting from your screen down to the 3dmodel? isn't it basicly the same, just in real time and with the ability to zoom in and out without any steps?
It's always good to see someone taking their first baby steps into the world of 3d. For a first model, it's good. Keep learnin' it will be cool to see you get it into quake.
oh calibrating for print is a whole other issue, but getting your images to a standard before sending them off is a step in the right direction :) good luck man
you're just compensating because you use blender. why not step into the real world, and get a program that you can actually do some professional work with?
NP mate! Alternatively, you can just print screen in the Engine itself. You risk getting steps, but with the right video settings, it should be all good.
try merging your meshes into an new scene and following the steps above. make sure that the light tracer is active under rendering\advanced lighting\light tracer
How about a moving step latter on wheels? That would be cool. It would also convey this isn't a everyday in and out sort of deal, and make it seem more industrial.
