If you made a game using just diffuse maps and vertex-lighting on 360/PS3/Wii, does that immediately make it next-gen? I don't think so... not much on Wii is very next-gen IMHO Gah, thread pollution, sorry
As far as I know the best way would be to just render the camera's view and then use that avi as the diffuse and self illumination textures on your tv screen. Edit: yeah, I didn't know you were going for the hall of mirrors thing either.
cool work! theres no reason we cant play games that look like this is there? I mean its just strong diffuse textures with no fancy lighting? surely that will actually run better on current machines than all this fancy lighting we have?

Oh gawd I want this application so much, haven't made too many normal maps before and only in max, mostly rely on substituting with good diffuse and bump maps from Photoshop. Would you guys say that if you can paint in Photoshop you would find Zbrush as easy?
Well All I know how to use is the diffuse map, and I don't know what the other maps do, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me or show me examples of how to use them, and what there used for...
What do I need to improve to make this look game ready? It's about 4k verts and uses 1 2k wood diffuse and normal, and 4 other 2k normal maps. I'm having some issues with the glass. The spotlights above it make the tops almost opaque. And a dojo I was playing with:
