Honestly i really think using substance designer and having the lip color modified based on an exposed parameter in the resulting substance would be a great way to do that. They could realistically produce any lip color at all with that. Substance Designer isnt free, but it is worth every bit. Of course i dont know what…
@Orangeknight, I think that style trumps "realism", especially for a character like this. He's obviously not a realistic character. Not to mention that real life knights wore bright colors all the time. I agree about the cloth, though. Needs more folds in the normal map - right now it looks like it could be made of wood. I…
Mmm. I like the models, tea. It reminds me of Roman architecture. A very imperial, almost holy sense to it. Definitely keep in those small little details that show a tiny bit of wear on the surface. Gives it a much more realistic feel to it. Quick question: Would it be possible for a floor and archway design? The models…
MR renders normal maps pretty well for me in max. Id say maya and mental ray are not using the rendering method for their normal maps. have you tried flipping the green channel? Why are you using a scanline renderer to render your game assets, surely a viewport shader, unreal, or marmoset model viewer would be much better…
That turned out really great, you nailed the wood in the texturing :) Going to look at this next time I texture realistic wood ;) Two things I would fix, one is adding a few more segments to the strap and using shadows when presenting it, cause now it lacks shadows it seems which makes it look flat. And remove the glow…
We have one of these too But dont't have break issues like Adam mentioned but our third row is getting the shit kicked out of it from wear and tear. Flaagan: My xc90 isnt to ugly its a pretty stylish crossover suv plus its AWD TwinTurbo whats not to like :). Now one of my favprite realistic cars to own is the early 90's…
new update! i re-did the leaves again...i cant figure out why they look so wrong, seem over saturated but when i de saturate they look too dark. I'll figure that out later. I'm going to take a new direction with the roof and add realistic elements to it like support beams and stuff. I'm also going to completely redo the…
I would make those recesses along the length of the shaft much, MUCH deeper. Those recesses are there to reduce weight, yet maintain the strength. It's sort of like a fullered sword. (Swords with a recess along the center of the blade). Other than that, it looks pretty darn close to the concept! Are you going to give this…
Face geometry looks better; still could use some loving massaged onto it. bridge of the nose is too thin, eyes are too big. I don't know how much of the texture you've done, but it needs a lot of color added into it. Wait... I should probably ask if this is based off an anime? if so, then ignore what I said, they only…
looks great, especially the small version! I bet the characters warcraft IV will be similar to yours in polycount and texture size. only things that jump out are the blank flag (already mentioned) and the lack of color. sure it looks realistic with all the natural earth tones, but if you really wanna emulate the blizzard…
