That would be fantastic and much appreciated perna. I used to use an Irfanview shell extension plugin to do something similar, but it doesn't work with 64 bit explorer. Can't wait:)
I do like how what looked like metal plates on the back was turned into a turtle shell. But yeah... maybe the feet could be halfway between the current and the way the hands are?
SVN works alright, probablly your best bet for cheap. If you can actually shell out some money go with alienbrain, its leaps and bounds better for art.
I use a combination of TexTools and UV Toolkit for blender as some things work better on one or the other. For packing UVPackmaster works extremely well for me and allows for enough control on overlapping shells and such
Finished version of my crab tank - based on a mix of the tachikomas from ghost in the shell, a Puget Sound king crab, and the look of ww2 era soviet tanks. Style from Brian Sum's "Hefty's Delivery" artwork. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/k4QJq6
How can I add 3D geometry on a 2D mesh in MayaLT? In 3Ds Max it was this "shell-modifier" which thickened the mesh. Is there anything like this on MayaLT? Heres my mesh. It will have problems showing up correctly in gameengines.
You can't get this effect using only a diffuse map. The internal parts are modeled on this one, and the outer shell used an actually translucent material so you can see the inside.
Thank you ! It's not a very big step forward but now the "shell" part is done. More details will come like holes, lines... I'm currently working on the "mecha" part of the AK-47.
