Hey I am currently having trouble subd modeling a screw head such as this. I can get the x in the middle but when I put in support edges, it takes away the roundness of the screw. Finally got around to doing a second head. This one is much improved over my last one (where I went too high poly too fast). One thing that bothers me is that she doesn't look feminine enough for me. What's making her masculine? Any advice or critiques are welcome!
When I was learning/do head anatomy, I save mouth for last. I find mouth comes easier when everything else is in place. The nose, and the chin and the cheeks. So, don't just focus on just one part, do the whole head each time. The relations between each part is important to get right too.
