Not to sure if this is the right place to post this. I am a little new to 3D and I am struggling. I have recently purchased Maya LT and I am trying to get a colour map from Maya LT to dDo (the new Quixel Suite). A Google search and watching some Youtube video's only shows the process of getting a colour map from Maya by…
A new version is ready. We are getting close. This version is a release candidate for the upcoming version 1.0.0. It marks the end of the initial development cycle. Nearly three years of work comes to an end. And most of the initial goals are fulfilled. The download can as usual be found in the download section.…
Trust me, I know. And thanks for the input! :) I was anxious to get feedback on my base mesh, but I probably should have waited until I had more to show to post. I'm really trying to better my 2d skills as well as my 3d skills, but I didn't want to spend too much time drawing this one, because it was intended to be a quick…
I've found it slows down a LOT after 82. I seemed to blitz through 80-82 in a couple of days from just questing and a couple of instances but 82 onwards definitely seems like a huge slowdown, which is great in my opinion. It could be because I've stayed in Hyjal rather than gone on to one of the higher level zones I guess…
I'll first explain how the metallic mask works before explaining how cubemaps interact with it. The metallic mask will simply darken the diffuse where it is applied. How much the diffuse is darkened depends on how white the metallic mask is for that texel. The intensity of this effect gradually ramps up the closer to white…
Short answer, depends on the place, but generally no. Skill and exp. are far more important then a piece of paper. But, if 2 people are applying for advancement and are equally skilled... In most cases the one with the degree would be given an edge IMO. I think a better question might be... will getting a degree in game…
Thanks guys! It's awesome to see people digging what we've been working on. Yeah so the modular lighting. You got it right. The solid-color meshes are a separate modular set, just for baking the lightmapping, discarded from the runtime build. Unity has SelfIllumin shaders that work with the lightmapper. Pretty basic…
Snader: Arg, you're right and those are some pretty cool ideas too. But I actually drew him a lot of times about 8 years ago when I was still a little 11 year old kid. Back then I was always thinking about stories with him. He would have glowing hair so when he went to rescue people they would see a bright light resembling…
Well its been over 40 days since your last post about fixing the errors and the spelling still looks terrible. Every page has at least 2 spelling errors (even the ones with only 10 words on them). Hell, even the pages with no words and only images have typos like the "Tutorails" button. Your own name is spelt wrong as well…
You have to admit, at first glance your post looks pretty damn inflamitory. It looks like a quick jab to win points with the people who had started to turn this thread into a "we hate religion" thread. I did skim the quote and then got to your post and my jaw hit the floor. I've reread it about 30-40 times and let me know…
